- In Turkey, the sephardis say kantadero (male), kantadera (female) for singer people; in Spanish is cantante, no much djudeo-Spanish language, I don't know if kantante is used in other Sephardic documents.--Marrovi (discusión) 17:17 13 Abr 2017 (UTC)
- Definitely not kantante, the '-ante' suffix for professions is seldom correct in JS, it is usually '-or.' And that's why I am skeptical of using 'kantadero' as well. I have always heard 'kantador' for a male singer, 'kantadera' for a female singer, and 'kantor' when refering to a hazzan. Two examples: "Vino el, les disho: “Yo se el kantador!” (Koen-Sarano); "Ni al bailador le digas baila ni al kantador le digas kanta." (Nehama). For the plural I would go for 'kantadores'. I'm reading last text, both forms are correct kantador and kantadero in djudeo-espanyol. In Andalusia is used the word cantador for male singer but Matilda Cohen also used kantadero; Ezra have got reason, kantador is well.--Marrovi (discusión) 06:06 14 Abr 2017 (UTC)
